Stadtluft, 2001

Stadtluft focuses on a group of people roaming through the city. It is recorded on a public toilet, located in an urban park on the edge of a lake. Through repetition and isolation are the events profane and “larger than life”, one might describe them as “ritual” molecules, in which the collective subconscious are visible. It is a study of the hidden connections that are dictated by shame and seduction – rules that do not know reason. The project is about “holes” in our imagination and knowledge of the world, and traces the mechanisms of unconscious projections that are brought into play by our ordinary fears.
